Robyn Brown, LPN, IBCLC — Hello, my name is Robyn Brown. I have over 26 years of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) specializing in maternal and child health. As a proud mother of two boys, I am also a Lactation Educator and an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).In the first five years of my nursing career, I worked in newborn and NICU nurseries, where I supported and assisted mothers with breastfeeding, before there was formal lactation training or education. Six years into my career, I became a mother myself, which deepened my passion for breastfeeding. My experiences helped me navigate my own breastfeeding journey with my first son and later, with my second son. Both of my boys were exclusively breastfed for 15 months. In 2020, I had the opportunity to pursue coursework through Lactation Education Resources, successfully completing the Lactation Consultant Training Program Enriched. This was followed by over 600 clinical hours, which prepared me to sit for the IBCLC exam. During this journey, I witnessed the critical need for lactation support, guidance, and education. My goal is to assist you and your family in overcoming the challenges that can arise with a new baby while navigating the overwhelming information available. While some hurdles may require time and patience, I am dedicated to helping you progress and find joy along this journey.I believe in fostering a supportive and nurturing environment where mothers feel empowered to ask questions and voice their concerns. My approach is holistic, taking into account not only the physical aspects of breastfeeding but also the emotional and psychological challenges that can emerge during this transformative time. When I’m not working with families, you can find me volunteering in the community, biking, walking, playing pickleball, and, most importantly, spending time with my first grandson! I look forward to meeting your family and supporting you on your breastfeeding journey!
